Day 1 of the Grand Strand Softball Tournament proved to be great for Bishop Ireton even before they hit the beach Monday. The Cardinals whitewashed Westside High School of Clear Fork West Virginia, 6-0 behind shutout pitching from Erin Rockwell and her timely hitting. Rockwell hit for the cycle, going 4 for 4 with a single, double, triple, and home run for Ireton. Early day Tuesday for the Cards as they meet Auburn High School at 8am.
