Quitman High School has a new girls basketball coach. The Panthers’ official athletics Twitter account announced late Tuesday evening Forest Hill High School’s Lakia Westerfield would be taking over after coaching at Forest Hill for two seasons. Westerfield replaces Gina Skelton, who left Quitman at the end of the school year to take the girls basketball coaching job at Wayne County High School, her alma mater. The Lady Panthers are coming off an MHSAA Class 4A state championship.
