IDA BAKER'S SAGE ATTWOOD HEADED TO COLGATE

"I felt like he was very welcoming," Attwood said of Hunt. "And when I went out there it felt the same with the rest of the coaches. "The coaches and players just welcomed me." The opportunity to play early in his college career played into Attwood's decision along with the school's reputation for solid academics. He could see time as a defensive back next season. "I plan on seeing the field my freshman year," Atwood said. Teammate Nick Raby had the opportunity to be reunited with his father, who took a job in Franklin, Tenn. Raby, a 6-foot-4, 255-pound defensive end, signed with Memphis as a preferred walk-on. "I've had the same dream since I was seven years old," said Raby, who finished with 57 tackles and five sacks this season. "I'm just so happy that it came true." Raby is well aware of the many success stories of walk-ons earning scholarships after productive seasons. "I'm going to work my butt off to make that happen," Raby said.
