Following an impressive first round win in the Region 5 playoffs on Monday (29-30), Wednesday saw the conclusion of the girl’s varsity basketball season played at Landmark Christian School against Paideia. Our Eagles fought the whole way, despite 30 points from Junior Nieja Crawford, the Eagles could not stay with Paideia. It has been a successful season for the Varsity Girl’s team under the coaching leadership of Coach Willie Richardson and Coach DeeDee Dennis. Thursday night saw the close of the Varsity Boys season with a game they have been waiting and working for. AIS played Elite Scholars, a team that they had gone down to earlier in the season at AIS. The game went to 3 overtimes and the boys came out victorious 56-55. Huge congrats go out to the boy’s team and the coaching staff of Coach Greg Blythe, Coach Atibah Fleming and Coach Kashif O’Neal. This is the varsity boys’ first victory in a long time.
