Defending 5A state champion Paragould escaped Raider Gym with a 25-27, 25-23, 25-21, 17-25, 16-14 victory over Nettleton in 5A-East conference volleyball Thursday night. Audra Nailling produced 24 kills and 11 blocks to lead the Lady Rams (3-0, 2-0 conference). Braxton Burnside added 18 kills and 30 digs, while Kiana Cole finished with 43 assists and Avery Turpin had 31 digs. Morgan McCall finished with 27 kills for Nettleton (2-2, 1-1 conference), while Kennedy Sellers added 14 and Alden Weeks 13. Sellers and McCall added 29 and 15 assists, respectively. Five Lady Raiders had double-digit digs — Gabby Sherman (31), McCall (25), Sellers (21), Jenna Hodges (14) and Sara Turner (10). Weeks served three aces. Nettleton (3-0) won the junior high match 25-16, 26-24. Mackenzie Thomas was 12-of-12 serving and 10 digs; Bailey Booker had eight assists and two blocks; Gracie Miller contributed 17 digs; and Maddie Sexton chipped in with six kills.
