MERCY RULE

The first ever boys high school home game ended because of mercy rule on November 17. The Sharks won eight to zero against Archbishop Curley with a hat trick by sophomore Mickey Goffredo, two goals by sophomore Alfredo Muñoz, one goal each by senior captain Andres Bermudez, senior Luca Sepulveda, and sophomore Oswaldo Ledezma. "Our team was the better prepared of the two and clearly dominated possession throughout the game. When we play teams like that it is always a challenge to keep up our intensity and play our game at our level," commented Coach Biesterfeld after the game. This team has experienced many ups and downs this season, losing twice by mercy rule in the preseason. These tough loses have been beneficial to their development as a team and helpful on their win on Monday. "Even though we started out rusty, we have managed to make huge improvements due to our persistence in practice, beating top teams such as Miami Country Day and drawing versus Palmer Trinity, a team we lost to terribly last year," says Captain Andres Bermudez about the team's improvement. The team has tougher games scheduled for the upcoming week as they continue their second season. Come support the DSA Sharks at Doral Meadows Park at 3:30 pm on Wednesday November 19, Thursday November 20, and Monday November 24 as they face International Studies, Dade Christian, and Riviera Prep.
