John Williams poured in 22 points as Athens topped Decatur 76-71 in overtime Monday night in boys high school basketball. Athens led by seven at halftime, and took a 50-46 cushion into the fourth period. But Decatur rallied to force overtime. Athens outscored Decatur 16-11 in the overtime period. Williams made four of Athens’ seven 3-pointers, while Terrance Watkins scored 19 points with eight rebounds. Cameron Turner added 13 points. Tyrique Purvis led Decatur with 19 points, and John Johnson scored 13. Noah Burroughs and Cedric Pointer each scored eight points for the Red Raiders.
