FRESHMAN FIRST

Freshman First By Darion Lewis and Jalen Hudson On September 9, 2015 the Mccluer South Berkeley freshman football team would be playing the first high school football game. For many of these young men this is an experience that would help them move further along in their football careers. Many people say you'll never forget your first time. We actually got the chance to catch up with one of the freshman captains to get his perspective. They ultimately lost but they gave a valiant effort and left a life time memory . Interview with Gerald Jackson Q: How did you feel coming into game? A: It was cool , but I was kind of nervous for this being my first game. Q: Did you feel confident about you guys chances of winning the game ? A: I felt very confident, me and my guys have been working hard since the summer so we were at an all time high with our confidence. Q:What did you think about the other team ? A: We never try to overlook any team, we like to treat all our opponents the same and prepare for a good game. Q: After the loss, what were some of the positives you could think about that the team did? A: We all worked together as a team throughout the game, even after we were down during the game we never gave up on each other. Q:How did this experience prepare you for the next game ? A: We just learned to keep each other up no matter what is happening in the game and try to stay focused.
