Liberty Band wows crowd at Ms. America Parade

LIBERTY BAND WOWS CROWD AT MS. AMERICA PARADE

The honored members of the Jackson Liberty High School LIBERTY LION BAND proudly marched down the Atlantic City Boardwalk on September 12th in the 2015 Miss America Parade. This is the groups third performance in the parade since the return of the pageant to Atlantic City in 2013. This year was even more special because they got to be at the front of the parade behind the first four contestants, Miss Alabama, Alaska, Arizona and Arkansas. The Jackson Liberty Lion band, which consisted of musicians, honor guard, colorguard and the high school cheerleaders, proudly performed a patriotic medley that was clearly a crowd favorite. Audience members cheered, clapped and even sang along with the group. Alexa Weaver, one of the drum majors for the group, explained, As soon as the drumline transitioned from the cadence to the song, the crowd just erupted. The applause and shouts were sometimes louder than the music itself. The band and crowd fed off of each other; when they started applauding, we became louder, and then they returned the favor. The Liberty Lion Band has a busy schedule this season which consists of performingat Met-Life Stadium, competing in 8 competitions, performing in West Chester PA for one of the biggest Christmas parades in the area which will be televised on Christmas Eve as well as Christmas Day, and performing the opening ceremonies for the NYC Pulaski Day events, then leading the Parade down Fifth Ave. For more information on the band please visit their website. www.libertylionband.com
